Balgraha was started in the year 1992 at Padegaon Taluka, Khandala District, Satara with the approval of the Commissionerate of Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra, Pune. As per the Child Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 of the Government of Maharashtra, the organization's Child Home has received the certificate and as per the new rules, the Child Home of the organization is functioning at Padegaon tal. Khandala dist. Satara. Orphans from the community are admitted in the Child Home by the order of the district level child welfare committee appointed by the Governor. Child Homes are reared from the age of six to 18 years.

Child Homes students are provided with accommodation, bedding, cushions, mattresses, pillows, satranji sheets, blankets, dinnerware, plates, cups, plates, cups, educational materials, textbooks, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, compass bags, etc. Students are provided with two school uniforms, two other dress towels, underwear, hairdressing, oil, soap, toothpaste, first aid, entertainment and sports equipment, alternative electrical systems, CCTV etc. for safety. Pure drinking water of RO is provided.
